The Repatriation of Caddo Nation Pottery in the UAG

Repatriating the objects of various Native American tribes across the United States has been an ongoing process for many museums, including the University Art Gallery (UAG) in Pittsburgh. These objects came in UAG possessions in 1938 from one of the professors from the University of Pittsburgh, Carl Engelder, who did an excavation of a Caddo tomb in Hot Springs, Arkansas, which he later donated these objects to university around 199
