Eliza Wick

Eliza Wick is a senior from Pittsburgh majoring in the History of Art and Architecture with a minor in Museum Studies, and a transfer from the University of Kentucky. In the fall of 2016, she helped create an exhibition for the University Art Gallery, Paradoxes of Play: Concrete and Conceptualist Proposals from Brazil and Beyond. She also completed an internship that involved work for a digital exhibition on Botany Hall of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History curated by two Ph.D. candidates, Colleen O’Reilly and Aisling Quigley. She will be presenting her contribution to this exhibition at HAARCH!!!

The Botany Hall project inspired Eliza to apply to the Office of Undergraduate Research’s London Field Studies Program in the summer of 2017. She was accepted and is now conducting her own research on the advantages of subjectivity over objectivity in botanical illustrations for scientific purposes, which she will continue while in London this summer.
