Biographies

Dylan Stein

Dylan Stein is a senior pursuing an Architectural Studies major and a Studio Arts minor. After coming to Pitt with the intention of seeking a degree in Computer Science, he quickly realized that a more creative and artistic education was necessary. Internationally, he studied furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Simone D'Rosa

Simone D'Rosa is a junior Architectural Studies major with minors in Historic Preservation and Studio Arts.  Her passion for architecture was ​cultivated from a love of historic structures.  Simone has worked as a teaching assistant for HAA 1912: Architecture & Computer Applications as well as HAA 0940: Approaches to the Built Environment.  This past summer she studied architecture in Central Europe, visiting Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia.  

Paige Anderson

Paige Anderson is a junior at Pitt, originally from Buffalo, NY.  An architectural studies design major with minors in economics and studio arts, she is currently enrolled in the inaugural class for Honors Studio 3, which focuses on sustainable design.  She is also a student athlete, on the cross country and track and field teams.

Sarah Pomfret

Sarah Pomfret is a junior, pursing a Bachelors of Philosophy in Communication Science and Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology). She is working towards completing the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine certificate as well as the Museum Studies Minor.  Sarah studied studio arts under Pennsylvania artist, Sue Hand, for much of her life. Although her primary academic pursuits are in the medical field, her passion for the arts led her to the HAA department and the Museum Studies minor.

Linda Lee

Linda Lee is a junior at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a major in Architectural Studies with a minor in Studio Arts. She is mainly interested in how architecture can influence the user’s behavior and emotions, and how the built environment could challenge the accepted views of society. Currently, she is working in the Visual Media Workshop, focusing chiefly on Decomposing Bodies, a project studying the Bertillonage system and evolution of human identification to the digital age.

Michaela Danko

Michaela is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Biological Sciences and Anthropology with minors in Chemistry and Museum Studies. After moving to Pittsburgh from Wyoming, she was able to explore her interest in museums and discovered the Museum Studies program with only two semesters left at Pitt.

Shannon Capone

Shannon is a senior, graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2015 with a major in Architectural Studies and a minor in Studio Arts. During the summer of 2014, she studied abroad under the History of Art and Architecture’s “Architectural Studies in Central Europe” and was awarded the Fil Hearn Award for Study Abroad. For the remainder of the summer, she worked as an architecture intern at Front Studio Architects in Oakland.

Meghan Hipple

Meghan is a junior majoring in the History of Art and Architecture and minoring in Museum Studies. Currently, she is a research assistant with the Visual Media Workshop where she is in the process of researching and mapping the movements of European women who travelled on The Grand Tour during the eighteenth-century. Her research is only a small part of a much larger project that digitally maps the locations, paths and overlaps of European Grand Tourists.

Kaley Kilpatrick

Kaley Kilpatrick is a senior pursuing a HAA major, Italian and Museum Studies minors, and a MedRen certificate.

Frank Reichard

Frank is a senior majoring in Architectural Studies with a minor in Studio Arts who has a love for both the built and natural environment. He gravitated towards architecture as a way to combine his passion for science, art, psychology, and nature. His main interests are discovering how architecture can affect the wellbeing of an individual, community, and the natural world.
